Hiking in central Europe’s largest national park is an impressive experience. Picturesque streams, crystal-clear mountain lakes, lush green meadows and a unique world of flora and fauna offer a rare tranquillity and invigorating energy at the same time: recuperation for all the senses.
Hollersbach is an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. Hikers love the wetland area of Wasenmoos and savour the mountain idyll. Families with young children prefer the lake of Hintersee where they can catch a glimpse of the chamois from Gasthof Gamsblick (“chamois view inn”) – which lives up to its name.
Take a ride in the new Panoramabahn Kitzbühler Alpen cable car. Just a few minutes are enough to whisk you up to the lofty heights of the Resterhöhe area with unbeatable panoramic views of the 3,000 metre high mountains of the Hohe Tauern.
Swimming and bathing. There is a natural swimming lake near Scharrerhof. Our guests can use it for free and enjoy a great day in the water. The Hollidee leisure centre offers a refreshing dip along with plenty of fun and games on the adventure playground, by the environmental pond, on the beach volleyball court and in the skate park.

Cycling and mountain biking. There are cycle paths everywhere. Boasting a 1,000 km network of well-developed cycle and mountain bike trails to suit every level, our holiday region is one of Austria’s most delightful areas for cyclists.
Sightseeing with the Salzburger Land Card. Visit a choice of 190 attractions in the city and province of Salzburg. The Salzburger Land Card comes as a 6 or 12-day ticket to match the length of your stay.
Healing plants and herbs to marvel at. In the new herb garden in Hollersbach, you will find out all about the local and “immigrant” healing and herb plants. The garden is open to everyone. But you can also take a guided tour to find out everything you want to know about our herbs.

22th Internationale Hollersbacher Malerwochen (International Painting Weeks): From 1 to 28 August 2010, our village will be transformed into a place of art and culture by a host of artists!
The 28th Hollersbach farmers’ market on 3 October 2010 will welcome in the autumn in the Alps with a traditional procession.
Other holiday activities include fishing, horse-riding, archery and golf.
